This is a graduate program under the Department of Aeronautical and Astronautical
Engineering, offering master's and doctoral level education.
It is an interdisciplinary program established within the Faculty of Aeronautics
and Astronautics.
The program aims to develop research and development capabilities in the fields of
Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Structures and Materials, Flight and Orbital Dynamics,
and Control of Aerospace Vehicles. The program has a total of 37 faculty members.
The history of the department dates back to 1976 with the opening of the Aeronautics
and Space MMLS (post-graduate engineering) program. In 2003, the Aeronautical
Engineering and Space Engineering programs were merged to form the Interdisciplinary
Department of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, with master's and doctoral
programs under the same name.
The need for research and production in the field of Aeronautical and Astronautical
Engineering is steadily increasing with globalisation. The program has been
restructured to be conducted in coordination between the two departments, combining
expertise to meet this growing demand.
