Internship Stages

Students who will undertake an internship are required to initiate the internship procedures on time through the ITU Portal, upload the required documents within the specified deadlines, and submit the internship report and related documents via the Portal and Ninova upon completion.

Note: Current announcements made by ITU Portal, Ninova, and the relevant units during the internship process must be followed closely. It is the student's responsibility not to miss the deadlines for document upload, approval, and submission procedures.

Preparation

a) Before the Internship Begins

    The internship registration must be opened on the ITU Portal.
    The student must open their internship registration on the ITU Portal no later than 15 days before the internship start date.

    The required documents must be prepared and uploaded.
    No later than 10 days before the internship start date, the following documents must be downloaded and printed, signed by the student, approved by the company, and uploaded to the Portal as a single PDF file:
    • Internship Agreement and Annex-1 Internship Application Form
    • Student Internship Work Schedule

    Approval from the Departmental Internship Committee must be obtained.
    The Departmental Internship Committee evaluates the application no later than 4 days before the internship start date and approves suitable applications.

    Insurance registration is completed.
    The Career and Internship Centre completes the insurance registration 3 days before the internship start date. The Social Security Employment Declaration is uploaded to the Portal and sent to the student's registered e-mail address.
During Internship

b) After the Internship Starts

  • Annex-2 Internship Start Form must be approved by the company and uploaded by the student to the internship module on the Portal within the first 5 days of the internship.
  • The student should download the internship report cover and template pages from the Portal and begin filling in the internship report in a daily page format throughout the internship period.
Submission

c) After the Internship Ends

    Annex-3 Internship Completion Form must be completed, approved by the company, and uploaded to the internship module on the Portal within 5 days of the internship end date.

    The internship report must be approved by the company and uploaded to the Portal within the period specified in the relevant guidelines.
  3. 3
    The internship report and other internship documents must be uploaded to the assignment section of the relevant internship class open on Ninova for evaluation and archiving purposes.
Exceptions

Corrections, Delays and Excused Absences

  • In the event of a delay or excuse regarding internship registration, document upload, or changes to internship data, the student must apply to the Departmental Internship Committee together with an excuse document.
  • If a correction is requested for the internship report, the student is given 2 weeks to make the necessary revisions.
  • If the report is not submitted on time or is rejected for a second time, the internship may be considered failed.

Internship Fields, Report and Submission Process

Internship Fields, Type, Content and Prerequisites

The internship fields, type, duration, and content applicable to each department's students, as well as any internship prerequisites, are determined by the Departmental Supplementary Internship Guidelines, which come into force upon the recommendation of the Departmental Internship Committee and the approval of the Faculty Board.

Internship Report and Submission Process

After each internship, the student prepares an internship report describing the work carried out during the internship. The report must be prepared in a daily page format using the cover and template pages downloaded from the Portal, and must be approved by the company.

After the upload procedures to the Portal are completed, the internship report and related documents must also be uploaded to the assignment section of the relevant internship class open on Ninova. Students in the graduation stage must complete their submissions on time, taking into account the internship final entry dates specified in the academic calendar.
